Am I Wearing The Right Bra?

by Chamonaye Fillies

Wearing the right bra can make you look and feel good!
FACT: 8 out of 10 woman wears the incorrect bra

By wearing the correct fitting bra you can experience:

  • Improve self confidence
  • Increased comfort
  • Prevent inflamed lymph nodes
  • Increased breast health

Wearing a tight bra is not good for you posture or your health, it restricts the lymph flow around the breasts, can cause cuts into your skin and soft tissues and can cause red lines.

Your lymph nodes are responsible for draining toxins and cancerous cells away from an area, thus constricting them can cause toxin build up in the area, around the breast area it can be a catalyst for breast cancer.

Poorly fitting bra’s can cause back pain, muscle tension, headaches poor posture and inadequate support.

Finding the right bra can be a tedious process and to make your journey to find the right support easier I recommend that you should be measured and fitted by a lingerie consultant on a yearly basis.

Tip on finding the right bra for you:

  • Band Size
Find the appropriate size for your figure. Take a measuring tape and measure around your rib cage, just beneath the breasts, add 5 inches to the measurement, the result is the correct band size.
  • Bust Measurement
Take the measurement over the widest part of your bust (over your nipple area), do not pull the tape tight.
  • Cup Size
Take the measurement over the widest part of your bust (over your nipple area), do not pull the tape tight.
    • A Cup: Difference of less than 1 inch
    • B Cup: Difference of less than 2 inches
    • C Cup: Difference of less than 3 inches
    • D Cup: Difference of less than 4 inches
    • DD or E Cup: Difference is less than 5 inches

Now that you know how to select the right bra size for you, throw out your old bra’s and go on a little shopping spree, remember to try on the bra to check for comfort and confidence.
