Crow’s feet also known as ‘worry lines’ are the fine wrinkles that forms on the outside of the eye area.
The skin around the eye area is extremely delicate and thin it can be up to 1/10 thinner than the skin on the rest of your face, it also lacks valuable oil glands that aid in the preservation of the skin. As the saying goes, ‘the eyes are the windows to the soul’ , they are your main visual sign of emotion, constantly blinking, squinting, narrowing and stretching which in time can over work the skin in this area.
The main reason of the onset of crow’s feet is ageing. Over time the collagen and elastin fibres around the eye orbit becomes weak, dehydrated and brittle resulting in these fibres to break, this in turn causes the skin around the eye to sag and show fine lines, becoming progressively worse from when you detected the first visible signs of them on average during your mid twenties.
The main causes of crow’s feet is due to sun exposure and smoking, during these activities you will find that you are constantly squinting either due to the bright light or fumes.
